The PEER FACILITATORS ORGANIZATION
The Peer Facilitators Organization is composed of students who have been chosen by their teachers to represent the section. A Peer Facilitator is someone who serves as the eyes and ears of the Guidance Counselor inside the classroom. He/she is tasked to identify classmates who exhibit academic and behavioral problems and refer them to the Guidance Office.
FRESHMEN ORIENTATION PROGRAM
An annual undertaking, this program assists the students in their adjustment in their first contact with the school. The Guidance Office provides activities that will acquaint the students to the philosophy and objectives of the school, the physical environment and the people connected with it.
This is aimed at helping the students to be acquainted with the different services and pertinent information about the school and for the parents to be aware of their duties and responsibilities as our partner in helping us mold their children.
In our effort to prepare our students for the challenges of the real world and to enhance interpersonal relationships, this activity is conducted so the learners will not only be academically secured and confident, but also grounded in truth and goodness.
The annual Recollection Activity for the Grade 10 students to further nourish their spiritual needs and recollect memories of junior high school which are all God-Given, has been an concrete mode for the protection of the child through holistic training.
At the end of one-day activity, the students will be able to:
- pause, reflect, refresh and get a handle on the next step/phase of their lives.
- reflect on their past experiences that shape their persons at present and may also influence their future decisions.
- appreciate those persons who became part of their high school lives.
- receive the wisdom, energy & support from others.
- reconnect with old and new friends.
- shift from a mind state of negativity or judgment to one of appreciation.
- continue a daily gratitude practice that can transform their lives.
Empowered and empowering, the Guidance Office facilitates symposia with relevant topics so that useful inputs can be of advantage to the learners. Topics of priority are identified and activity matrixes are designed for implementation.
DIALOGUE of the HEARTS
The Dialogue of the Hearts is an annual activity for Students and Parents from the special programs to enhance family communication and relationship. Various activities are being done so that the bond between a parent and a child will strengthen and resolve any minor issue brought about by family matters.
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION thru the PROGRAM for STUDENTS with SPECIAL NEEDS
Responding to the clarion call of Education for All and the protection and promotion of the rights of Persons with Disabilities, the recent inclusion to the growing and developing special programs, this innovation targets its mission to advocate the “right to education” and equip the clientele to cope with academic and life demands.
The ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGN and
the HELP and ASSISTANCE DESK
In response to Section 3 of RA 10627, the Iloilo National High School through the efforts of the Peer Facilitators Organization under the Guidance Office, an anti-bullying campaign is being celebrated in the month of November every year to promote peace and camaraderie among the students. Furthermore, it seeks to help victims cope through various activities such as counseling and group dynamics.
A stand-by help and assistance desk is also introduced to all the learners to give them the venue and chance to voice out their sentiments.
